Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Reconciliation Committee, made up of national officers, members of the Elders’ Council, and other distinguished party members, paid a courtesy visit to former National Chairman and Leader, Dr. Prince Alex Harding, at his Freetown residence on Friday.
The visit recognized Dr. Harding’s more than three decades of dedicated service in top leadership positions within the party since the early 1990s.
Committee members commended his steadfast leadership, which contributed to the SLPP’s electoral victories and its successful transitions from opposition to government on two occasions. They also highlighted his pivotal role in promoting unity, peace, and reconciliation within the party.In response, Dr. Harding expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed his lifelong loyalty to the SLPP, stating: “The SLPP is bigger than any individual. I will forever be a patriot of the SLPP.”
The committee used the occasion to call on all members to refrain from actions, including on social media, that could compromise internal cohesion. They emphasized the importance of prioritizing the unity, peace, and well-being of the SLPP.
