Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan David Hunt, has welcomed eight newly sworn-in Peace Corps Volunteers who will contribute to strengthening health and education initiatives across the country.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Ambassador Hunt expressed his honor in participating in the event, noting that the new volunteers will join 28 of their colleagues already serving in various communities nationwide.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Freetown, the incoming group has completed comprehensive training and is ready to begin work in schools and health clinics. Their mission will focus not only on supporting health and education services but also on fostering mutual understanding between the United States and the people of Sierra Leone.
“Congratulations to the newest members of Peace Corps Sierra Leone we’re excited for all you will accomplish,” the embassy stated.
The Peace Corps has a long history of partnership with Sierra Leone, with its volunteers playing an integral role in improving community well-being while strengthening ties between the two nations.
