Africa-Press – Tanzania. MOZAMBIQUE President, Daniel Chapo, has stated that the main goal of his visit to Zanzibar is to establish strategies to strengthen cooperation between Mozambique and Zanzibar, particularly to harness existing opportunities through the blue economy policy, especially in the fisheries sector.
President Chapo made the remarks today, May 9, 2025, during his visit to the Deep Sea Fishing and Marine Authority located in Fumba, Zanzibar. He noted that the authority plays a crucial role in ensuring efficiency and development in the island’s fisheries sector.
He emphasized that the government of Mozambique is ready to collaborate closely with both the government of Zanzibar and the United Republic of Tanzania, by sharing experience and providing tools to support the growth of the fisheries sector for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Furthermore, President Chapo stressed the importance of swift implementation of the agreements already established between the two sides, in order to strengthen the existing relationship and achieve shared economic and developmental progress
