Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE bilateral cooperation between Tanzania and Comoros in the energy sector has received a strong boost, as Tanzania’s Ambassador to Comoros, Saidi Othman Yakubu, concluded his tour of duty with a firm call to sustain the momentum built over the years.
Speaking during a farewell meeting with Comoros’ Senior Minister in charge of Energy, Aboubacar Anli, the envoy hailed the close working relationship that has driven notable progress in oil and renewable energy collaboration.
Ambassador Yakubu said the partnership has opened up opportunities for Tanzanian businesses, particularly in the petroleum and renewable energy sectors, including solar power, describing it as a key milestone in strengthening economic ties.
Additionally, he thanked Minister Anli for his cooperation throughout his tenure, noting that the foundation laid offers a strategic platform to further expand engagement between the two countries.
The envoy also stressed the need for continued collaboration under his successor, underscoring the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic and economic relations between Tanzania and Comoros.
On his part, Minister Anli commended Ambassador Yakubu for his pivotal role in advancing bilateral relations, citing key achievements including a high-level meeting held last year with Tanzania’s Energy Minister.
In a further development, the minister revealed that Comoros will host a major international energy conference in October this year and officially invited Tanzania’s Energy Minister to participate.
