Tanzania Tasks New Oman Envoy to Boost Economic Diplomacy

Africa-Press – Tanzania. Tanzania’s newly appointed Ambassador to Oman, Maulidah Hassan, has been tasked with strengthening economic diplomacy and protecting the interests of Tanzanians abroad as she prepares to take up her new post.

The directive was issued by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, during a farewell meeting held at the ministry’s offices in Dar es Salaam.

During their meeting, the Minister congratulated Ambassador Maulidah on her appointment and commended her for her contributions while serving as the President’s Personal Assistant for diplomatic affairs.

Additionally, he urged her to prioritise strengthening bilateral cooperation between Tanzania and Oman, particularly in trade, investment, and tourism, while ensuring the welfare and protection of Tanzanians living in Oman.

The minister further encouraged the envoy to leverage her experience to deepen the long-standing relations between the two nations.

On her part, Ambassador Maulidah pledged to execute her duties with integrity and professionalism, stating that she is committed to advancing economic diplomacy and strengthening the historic ties between Tanzania and Oman.
