AfricaPress-Tanzania: YOUNG Africans Head Coach Cedric Kaze said their Mainland Premier League match against Mtibwa Sugar had a lot of pressure despite winning 1-0.

“It was a match with big pressure on and off the pitch. I salute my players for showcasing tactical discipline despite such a huge pressure.

“I know Mtibwa Sugar well from the Mapinduzi Cup tournament and they have good quality when it comes to minimising the pitch and they are able to make quick decisions. As such, I tasked my players to approach the game with enough tactical discipline.

“I celebrated a lot as a result of the pressure of the match since it was difficult to break their defence where they are usually strong. All my players did a good job to source the victory,” said Kaze after the match.

Yanga shrugged off their three match winless run to whip Mtibwa Sugar at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam over the weekend to reach 49 points at the summit of the league table.

Substitute Carlinho Fernandes ‘Carlinhos’ scored the solitary goal to bring back smiles on millions of Yanga fans who had a tough time watching their side dropping essential points in three consecutive draws.

It was a massive return for the Angolan import midfielder who missed many league games for Yanga in the first round of the campaign due to injury hence scoring on the day was a big boost for him.

Kaze also lauded his charges for being patient until they scored the winning goal while disclosing that everyday, they train hard to simplify the game at their sight.

His counterpart Hitimana Thierry fully praised his men for executing well his pre-match directives saying one mistake they made was utilised positively by their opponents.

“We too had a great match but in the end, the outcome was not what we desired. This is football and the most important thing for us is to do well in our upcoming fixtures,” the former Namungo coach said.

The loss saw Mtibwa Sugar sit 11th on the table with 23 points from 20 encounters and they need to fight hard to collect extra three points in most of their remaining games in the league.

According to the available fixture, Yanga will travel to face Coastal Union in Tanga on March 4th before heading to Moshi to take on Polisi Tanzania at Ushirika Stadium.
