YANGA LIFT LID ON FISTON, SARPONG CONTRACTS

AfricaPress-Tanzania: YOUNG Africans have clarified on the six-month contract they have signed with their Burundian striker Fiston Abdulrazak saying it has got a room for extension.

A huge debate has surfaced among football fans in the country on why Yanga have opted to give the striker such a short contract, insisting that if he proves to be good during that brief spell, it will be easy for other clubs to hijack him.

Elaborating on this recently in Dar es Salaam was the club’s Acting General Secretary, Haji Mfikirwa who said, despite the short duration of the contract, it has got many clauses which are beneficial to both parties.

“The most important thing for people to know is that we have signed Abdulrazak and he is going to serve our team for six months, which has got an option of extension upon agreement from the two sides. “His contract has got many things of which I cannot disclose here but we will be updating people as time goes bearing in mind that contract details are always confidential,” he said.

In another development, Mfikirwa denounced rumours that the club has terminated its contract with Ghanaian striker Michael Sarpong, saying he has been permitted to visit his family but will come back.

“He has been allowed to go and see his family just like the way all players in the team have done. He is still our legal player and the coach has got plans with him throughout the season,” said him.

He also pointed out that Angolan import midfielder Carlinho Fernandes ‘Carlinhos’ is also their legal player contrary to what people are saying that he has been shown the exit door at the club.

“He is progressing well with medication as he has been ill for a long period and everything between him and the club is perfect such that soon, he will resume his normal duties at the club,” he said.

Again, Mfikirwa played down speculations that the club’s transformation advisor Senzo Mazingiza has been let go saying such claims are baseless as he is busy with his daily tasks of driving for the club transformation.

“Senzo is still with us and for those who wish to see him leaving the club should know that he is here to stay until all the works which brought him at Yanga are successfully accomplished,” he narrated.

He continued: “All these are being said to simply disorganise us. Yanga members and fans should not pay attention to such unfounded claims since whenever we have something to communicate with them; we do so by using our official media outlets.”

He further cemented that the club’s mission to clinch the Premier League title this season remains unchanged since the leg has not been released from the gas pedal.
