AfricaPress-Tanzania: YOUNG Africans said the decision to go separate ways with skipper Papy Tshishimbi and 13 other players was reached following mutual agreement between the two sides for the betterment of the club.

Yanga offloaded 14 players from their squad as they want to overhaul the team to make it competitive next season to challenge for titles.

So far, they have signed four new players who are Bakari Mwamnyeto (Coastal Union), Yassin Mustapha (Polisi Tanzania), Zawadi Mauya (Kagera Sugar) and Waziri Junior (Mbao FC).

Speaking in the city about the release of the big number of players, Mobilisation Officer Antonio Nugaz said the departure of the 14 players will provide room for others to come.

“We want to rebuild a competitive team next season that is why it was inevitable to offload some of the players so that others should come in to replace them,” he said.

Commenting on Tshishimbi, Nugaz said one of the two parties was not convinced with the contract extension discussions; thereby going separate ways was the only solution.

“We have even let go David Molinga who was our top goal scorer last season, which means that we are aware of what we are doing,” he said.

About the new coach, Nugaz said the list of technical bench members to be in charge of the team next season will be revealed soon.

He then named the players who have been shown the exit door after the expiry of their contracts as David Molinga, Tariq Seif, Jaffar Mohamed, Mrisho Ngasa, Andrew Vincent, Mohamed Banka and Papy Tshishimbi.

Those whose contracts have been terminated are Yikpe Gislain, Muharani Isa, Ali Ali, Ally Sonso, Patrick Sibomana, Eric Kabamba and Rafael Daudi.

The list of 17 players who have remained in the club for next season are Ramadhan Kabwili, Farouk Shikalo, Metacha Mnata, Lamine Moro, Bernard Morrison, Feisal Salum, Haruna Niyonzima, Balama Mapinduzi and Deus Kaseke.

Others are Juma Abdul, Kelvin Yondani, Paul Godfrey, Abdulaziz Makame, Adeyum Salehe, Juma Mahadhi, Said Juma Makapu and Ditram Nchimbi.

Meanwhile, the Jangwani street based side has continued to be active in the transfer window for the 2020/21 season as report had it that the club has managed to obtain the signature of Azam FC attacking midfielder Salum Abubakar alias ‘Sure Boy’.

According to report from reliable source within the club, the ice-cream makers’ playmaker has agreed to pen down a two-year deal with Yanga.

The attacking midfielder had been frequently linked with a move to Yanga in the past transfer windows but to a no avail.
