YANGA REMAIN DUMB ON WHETHER MORRISON IS STILL SERVING THE CLUB

AfricaPress-Tanzania: YOUNG Africans could not confirm or deny whether Bernard Morrison will be among the members of the squad expected to depart today for Morogoro ahead of their 37th round match against Mtibwa Sugar tomorrow.

The two teams will battle it up for maximum three points at Jamhuri Stadium as Mtibwa Sugar desperately want to win both of their two fixtures remaining before the season’s curtain falls.

The Morogoro giants are among the seven teams at the bottom of the table whose survival in the next season heavily depends on the results to be recorded in their two final games.

They lately sit 14th on the table with 41 points so as Lipuli, Mwadui and Alliance FC who also parade the same 41 points but only separated by goal difference.

However, speaking yesterday in the city, Yanga Mobilisation Officer,  Antonio Nugaz said the team is in positive mood ready for their tricky away fixture tomorrow.

“The squad has been training hard since the day we posted the 1-1 draw against Mwadui and basing on the level of preparations, we hope to collect maximum three points against Mtibwa Sugar,” he said.

But, quizzed whether Morrison will be part and parcel of the travelling contingent, Nugaz said everything will be known on Wednesday (tomorrow).

The sour relationship between Morrison and his employer escalated when he was substituted during his side’s 4-1 loss to Simba SC in the traditional derby on July 12th.

To make it worse, the Ghanaian player marched straight to the changing room where he dressed up and hired a Bodaboda to quit the venue.

Since then, he missed the next match against Mwadui (1-1) and according to the team’s Information Officer, Hassan Bumbuli’s recent remarks, he never reported for training sessions.

Yanga still cling to the second slot on the table with 68 points, only two points above third placed Azam FC who missed the chance to leapfrog Yanga as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lipuli FC on Sunday at Samora Stadium in Iringa.

The Jangwani Street giants will face Lipuli in their last match of the season at Samora Stadium in Iringa as they fight hard to end this term as runners up.
