Africa-Press – Uganda. As the excitement builds ahead of the Miss Tourism Uganda 2025 grand finale, Bunyoro-Kitara and West Nile regions proudly unveiled their regional queens over the weekend in colorful ceremonies celebrating culture, beauty, and heritage.

In Bunyoro, the regional search culminated in a vibrant event at HB Hotel in Hoima, where 21-year-old Anisha Kyomugisha from Hoima District was crowned Miss Tourism Bunyoro 2025.

She will be joined by first runner-up Shana Asaba and second runner-up Shivan Namugerwa, both 21 and from Masindi District, as they advance to represent the region at the national finals slated for September 5 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

This year’s competition is themed “I Am My Culture”, a call to embrace and showcase Uganda’s rich cultural diversity.

Contestants were evaluated on their ability to creatively interpret their cultural identity through traditional dance, attire, talent showcases, and clan presentations.

With its strong clan system and vibrant royal lineage, Bunyoro’s cultural depth was at the heart of the evening.

Contestants took the audience on an educational journey into their clans and customs, blending beauty with ancestral storytelling.

Kyomugisha, a member of the Nyabaswazima clan, shared that her passion for preserving and promoting Bunyoro’s heritage motivated her to compete.

“I believe in the power of culture to unite and inspire. This platform allows me to amplify Bunyoro’s traditions, promote tourism, and foster intercultural dialogue,” she said after her crowning moment.

The event’s chief guest, Princess Daphine Kabatalesa Adyeri heir to the Queen of Bunyoro-Kitara praised the initiative for nurturing cultural pride among the youth.

She reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to supporting the Miss Tourism initiative and made a personal contribution of shs500,000 toward the event.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by performers Genne Music and Shantel Jovial, who kept the energy high with captivating musical sets.

Meanwhile, in West Nile, the search also came to a close with 24-year-old Letaru Mercy Jovia from Moyo District crowned Miss Tourism West Nile 2025.

She was flanked by first runner-up Endredru Stacy Tanyi, also 24 and from Moyo, and 20-year-old Lekuru Eron from Arua, who claimed the second runner-up spot.
