Africa-Press – Angola. The saving of 118 billion kwanzas, through the National Electronic Public Procurement System (SNCPE), in force in the country since 2018, was one of the subjects that dominated the highlights of the economic area, in the week that Saturday ends.

The respective values resulted from the registration of 138 contracting procedures, triggered by the electronic platform, as well as the award of 250 companies, according to the Secretary of State for Budget and Public Investment, Juciene de Sousa.

Alongside this achievement, the week just ended was also marked by the holding of the first Forum on Cybersecurity, promoted by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS).

On the occasion, the governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), José de Lima Massano, revealed that the Angolan financial system registers, on average, 350 cyberattack attempts per month, representing an increase of around 200%, compared to the previous year. 2020.

Faced with this reality, the Angolan Government is engaged in the creation of the cybersecurity agency, to guarantee the supply and processing of data, with a view to creating increasingly consistent and realistic public policies.

Another note of note that deserved to be highlighted in that week was the holding of the 56th Meeting of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks (CCBG) of SADC, in Luanda, which served to analyze the financial system of the region.

Created in 1995, the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of SADC is a specialized structure in the promotion of a close cooperation between the Central Banks of Southern Africa, considering its fundamental role in the promotion of economic and financial development, through the adoption of policies that reinforce macroeconomic and financial stability.

These central banks remain resilient, given the current international context, with no record of stress in small and large banks, said the chairman of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks, Lesetja Nganyango.

Looking at what happened in the US and Europe, where some banks failed, the governor of the Central Bank of South Africa also admits that security conditions are different from one country to another, but, in general, he said that there is resilience in the SADC financial system.

The mining sector also stood out with the laying of the first stone for the construction of the Tetelo Mine, in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo, in the province of Uíge.

This is a copper project, valued at US$275 million, and will be built in 27 months, with a capacity to produce, as of 2024, four thousand tons of copper concentrate per day, totaling 30 thousand tons of copper contained/year.

Still in this area, the announcement of the inauguration and the start of industrial production of kimberlite at Luaxe, with estimated reserves of 350 million carats of diamonds, scheduled for this year, should also be highlighted.

This mine is expected to produce more than 13 million carats/year.

Located in the eastern region of the country, between the provinces of Lunda-Norte and Lunda-Sul, the mine has a concession area of 1195 km2, in which Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, ENDIAMA EP and other national companies are shareholders in the project.
