Africa-Press – Angola. The Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to China, Dalva Ringote Allen, highlighted this Monday, 26, the leadership of the Angolan President, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, in the rotating presidency of the African Union (AU), highlighting the strategic priority lines defined for his mandate.

According to a press release sent , the ambassador spoke during a gala dinner hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), currently the African Union.

In her speech, she highlighted the choice of the Angolan presidency’s motto “Infrastructure and Human Capital: Key Factors for Africa’s Comprehensive Development”, and reaffirmed the challenges facing the African continent with a view to the socio-economic development of countries and the implementation of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda and the African Union’s 2063 Agenda. She also mentioned that these agendas represent important milestones in terms of commitments and goals in the areas of interconnectivity, food security, electrification, trade, the fight against hunger and poverty, peace, security and continental integration. Dalva Ringote Allen stressed that China and Africa share a long history of friendship, cooperation and solidarity, based on mutual respect and the defence of the rights of the African people and their diaspora.“At a time when the world is facing multiple global challenges, diplomacy and international cooperation play an essential role in building peace, global development, global balance and peaceful coexistence, based on international law, multilateralism and the sovereignty of States,” he said. He added that China and the African continent share a history rooted in friendship, cooperation, solidarity, mutual respect and the defence of the rights of the African people and their diaspora. The dinner brought together the Ambassadors of the African Group accredited to the People’s Republic of China, as well as senior officials of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the strengthening of Sino-African relations.
