President João Lourenço Reshuffles Military Bodies

Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço has signed and ordered the publication of a set of decrees and orders determining various actions, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).

According to the Presidency of the Republic’s official social media page, these include the promotion of Angolan Armed Forces and National Police officers to higher ranks, retirement due to age limits, dismissal of Criminal Investigation Service Commissioner officers from the Ministry of the Interior; and appointments.

The decree includes the promotion of general and senior FAA officers, senior Criminal Investigation Service officers, and dismissals and appointments in different State Intelligence and Security Service directorates.

It also includes dismissals and appointments in the Military House of the President of the Republic and the Angolan Navy, as well as promotions, dismissals, and appointments in various Angolan National Police structures.

The decree states that the list detailing the package of changes, determined by the President of the Republic after consulting the National Security Council, will be published in a special supplement of the Angolan public newspaper.
