Africa-Press – Angola. Judge Amós de Oliveira Santos presented Tuesday, in Lubango, the work “Technical-Practical Manual of the Judge of Guarantees,” which reflects the challenges and responsibilities of legal professionals in strengthening justice and defending the fundamental rights of citizens.

Written between 2021 and 2025, the book arises from the need to deepen the study of the figure of the judge of guarantees, introduced into the Angolan legal system to ensure greater impartiality in the initial phases of the criminal process and to protect individual liberties. With 500 pages and eight chapters, the manual combines theory and practice, addressing topics such as professional ethics, interrogation techniques, personal and property coercive measures, interpretation of legal norms, and the autonomy of the courts.

In statements, the author highlighted that the topic was chosen due to the novelty of the legal concept and the difficulties that legal professionals face in its application, with the aim of contributing to a more humane, technical, and socially conscious justice system.

Amós Santos emphasizes that the manual was designed for legal professionals, students, and citizens in general, arguing that everyone should have a basic understanding of justice.

The book was officially launched in July of this year at the Palace of Justice in Luanda and has already toured the provinces of Bié, Huambo, and Benguela, now arriving in Huíla as part of its national dissemination route.
