Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Finance Minister Vera Daves de Sousa has been working in the People’s Republic of China since Monday (3), to strengthen financial relations between the two countries.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance, sent on Tuesday, during her stay in the Asian country, Vera Daves de Sousa will meet with officials from the Chinese Ministry of Finance, as well as with Chinese financial institutions, namely the China Development Bank (CDB), Exim Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and the Bank of China.
Until Wednesday (5), the minister will also work with Chinese companies with which the Angolan government already maintains a partnership relationship.
Also as part of strengthening relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of China signed a memorandum last Thursday (October 30) aimed at strengthening financial partnership relations and promoting the financing of strategic economic and technological development projects in the country.
The last visit to China was made by the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, in March 2024, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, six years after the previous visit of a similar nature in 2018.
