Africa-Press – Angola. A cooperation agreement between Angolan and Zambian tour operators, Ukunhula and Lochinvar Safaris respectively, was signed aiming to reinforce the commitment to joint development of the tourism sector of both countries.
According to a press release that on Saturday (7), the protocol was signed during the Zambia Tourism Fair (ZATEX 2025) by both companies CEO, Dorix Raimundo for Angola and McFister Hampande for Zambia.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by ministers Márcio Daniel and Rodney Sikumba, a moment that also served to reinforce the political and institutional commitment of the two countries.
“This agreement represents an important milestone in regional integration and in strengthening bilateral ties in the field of tourism, with a focus on the strategy of exchanging services and cross-promotion of tourist destinations,” the note reads.
He also states that the main goal of this agreement is to promote the exchange of services, stating that Zambia has great potential in adventure and safari tourism, while Angola has a vast Atlantic coast and destinations such as Benguela and Namibe, which can welcome Zambian operators and tourists.
“For this reason, complete tourist packages are being created, which will include tickets, accommodation, food and tours in the Angolan coastal areas and tourist attractions in the south of the country”, stated Dorix Raimundo.
In return, Lochinvar Safaris will promote tourist packages to the Zambian market for the southern coast of Angola, with emphasis on the provinces of Benguela, which offers 240 km of Atlantic coastline, and Namibe, known for its unique desert landscapes and ecological diversity.
For McFister Hampande, “this collaboration represents a unique opportunity for us to take our guests to explore the coastal beauty of Angola, offering experiences that complement the adventure tourism we already offer in Zambia”.
The signed agreement is a concrete example of the potential for regional tourism integration among SADC countries, and is a response to calls for intensified bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector in Africa.
