Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço on Sunday appealed to humanity to bear in mind the duty to protect children in order to effectively and urgently ensure their right to education, health, and adequate nutrition.

In a message celebrating World Children’s Day on June 1, the Angolan head of state said the day is a United Nations-defined milestone for humanity to reflect on the problems children face.

Lourenço urged Angolan families to take responsibility for the harmonious development of children.

In his message, President Lourenço urged people not to forget the suffering and vulnerabilities of girls and boys in Africa and other parts of the world, especially in Gaza, where they are victims of neglect and gratuitous violence.

“May humanity unite in the mission to build a better future in which children can enjoy widespread happiness within families that prioritize them above all else,” concluded João Lourenço.
