Africa-Press – Angola. The US-Africa Summit, which Angola will host from 22 to 25 this month, will be the stage for the Angolan government to attract investors to leverage mechanised agriculture, Vietnamese businesswoman Thi Ngo Ena said on Sunday in Saurimo, Lunda-Sul province.

Speaking on the sidelines of the provincial act of International Children’s Day, which is marked, the representative of the Vietnamese community in Lunda-Sul said that the exchange of experience with experienced world entrepreneurs will contribute to fine-tuning the path of diversification of the Angolan economy.

She stressed that his country, the USA, India and China are powerhouses in the production of rice and other crops, so the Summit should be used in the best way.

She recalled that the commune of Mona Quimbundo was the country’s power in rice production, so the Government should attract foreign businessmen in this region, to know the reality, and perhaps, encourage them to invest in the locality.

The businesswoman said that the country, and Lunda-Sul, in particular, have sufficient water resources and fertile land for the production of rice, sweet potatoes and reindeer and citrus fruits.

According to Thi Ngo Ena, rice production can boost the local economy, generate jobs in the countryside, encourage the development of infrastructure and boost industrial activity, to process and market products from the countryside to other areas of the country and to the world.

Therefore, she considered it a strategic vision for the Angolan Executive to hold the summit in Luanda, reiterating that meeting with more experienced businessmen is crucial for professional and personal development.

She said he hoped that the summit would offer, in addition to the exchange of experience, learning in the mentoring sectors, networking and business opportunities in the transport industry, information technology, among other sectors.

The event, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, will allow the establishment of partnerships with leading American companies and will facilitate access to financial instruments with related institutions.

Under the motto ‘Paths to Prosperity’, the 17th US-Africa Summit is expected to be attended by about 3,000 people, including businessmen and government officials, to reflect together on issues related to infrastructure, agriculture, electricity, health, among other cross-cutting issues that afflict Africans.

The forum is promoted by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA of the USA), in partnership with the Government of Angola.

The Corporate Council for Africa is a business association focused exclusively on connecting business interests between the United States and the African continent.

The last U.S.-Africa Summit took place from May 6 to 9, 2024, in the city of Dallas, United States, under the motto ‘U.S.-Business in Africa: Partnerships for Sustainable Success’.
