ANGOTIC 2025 Gathers 150 Startups

Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 150 startups are to participate, from Jun 12 to 14, in the 5th Edition of Angola’s International Forum on Information and Communication (ANGOTIC 2025), taking place in Luanda.

These are emerging companies linked, among others, to the areas of health, mobility, environment, ecology, techs and software.

In statements, on Friday (6), the coordinator of the ANGOTIC Startups and Innovation Subcommittee, Emília Dias, highlighted the importance of the forum, hoping for greater interaction between large and small companies.

With this, she said, companies in the embryonic phase will be able to become more dynamic, have the conditions to grow and adapt to the market, since experience shows that many startups take advantage of the event to consolidate and develop.

The 5th Edition of ANGOTIC will take place under the motto “50 years communicating, modernizing and developing Angola” and is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national independence, to be marked on Nov 11.

According to the coordinator, the three best startups will be selected and awarded a cash prize and other benefits, such as the creation of a website and placement in the incubator of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Mass Media (MINTTICS).

Emília Dias acknowledged, on the other hand, that, although the startup market is new in the country, there are a number of initiatives developed by the Govt aimed at certification, registration of brands and patents, as well as facilitating access to bank credit, with a view to building an inclusive ecosystem capable of leveraging the national economy.

The forum is promoted by the Angola Govt, through MINTTICS, with the aim of promoting debates on current, global and future themes of Information and Communication Techs (ICT), together with the sharing of knowledge and facilitating networking for government entities, exhibitors and specialists.
