Africa-Press – Angola. The carnival groups participating in the special edition of Carnival called “Carnaval Angola 50 Years,” scheduled for September 13th in Luanda, have already received their respective grants to prepare for the parade.

This information was provided by the National Director of Cultural Action at the Ministry of Culture, Pedro Chissanga, who noted that each group received an amount of 8 to 10 million kwanzas to ensure greater artistic and cultural quality in the performances of the special edition of “Carnaval Fora de Época.”

The official said that a detailed study was conducted on the groups’ needs to promote and value traditions, as well as preserve the national cultural identity during Carnival, part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.”The money has already been distributed to the groups and is intended to support logistics, purchase clothing, and boost participant motivation,” he emphasized.

Regarding the program, Pedro Chissanga announced that the groups will begin arriving in Luanda on September 8th and 9th, with the 11th and 12th of the same month reserved for general rehearsals.

The event program includes a performance of animation groups and choreography alluding to National Independence Day, as well as a tribute to the União Operário Kabocomeu group.
