Africa-Press – Angola. The Catoca Mining Society is providing one billion kwanzas for “Expo Catoca 30 Years,” scheduled for the 26th to 28th of August at its base in Luanda, Talatona.

The fair, which aims to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary under the motto: “Here, Where Diamonds Meet the Community,” expects the participation of more than 60 exhibiting companies and an average of 500 visitors daily, a number expected to increase due to strong demand.

The event serves as a space for celebration, reflection, and sharing of the most important milestones in Catoca’s history, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation, and positive social impact in the communities where it operates.

According to the event coordinator Francisco Bayila, the fair will be more than a technical conference; it will be a celebration of Catoca’s achievements over the years.

He also stated that one of the event’s focuses will be the company’s training role, responsible for training several of the country’s top managers and technicians in the mining sector.

“The managers we have in the industry came from the Catoca school,” he said.

He added that exhibitor registration is still open and that admission is free for students, while the general public can purchase tickets for AOA 7,500 per day.

Expo Catoca will feature the presence of important entities in the global diamond industry, including the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), a world leader in diamond certification, and the diamond exchanges of Antwerp, Dubai, and India.

During the three days, there will be institutional and technological exhibitions, thematic panels and conferences, business networking sessions, and cultural presentations.

In addition, the event will be an opportunity to present Catoca’s new projects, aiming to strengthen its position as one of the largest diamond mining enterprises in Africa.

He added that part of the proceeds will be invested in social projects, with a focus on youth and female entrepreneurship.

“We have prioritized women at this stage and will continue to invest in this direction,” he concluded.

Catoca Mining Society is the largest diamond mining company in Angola, responsible for the exploration of one of the country’s most important deposits.

In its 30 years of operation, it has established itself as a benchmark in training technical staff and promoting sustainable mining practices and positive social impact.
