JMPLA in Moxico is committed to working towards the growth of the party’s member base, in the face of upcoming electoral challenges.The guarantee was given by the interim provincial first secretary of the MPLA youth organisation, Salvador Afonso, on Wednesday, during the political event as part of the “Joven Abril Day”, which took place at the Pavilion next to the Viação e Trânsito, in the city of Luena.
During his speech, Salvador Afonso reaffirmed the JMPLA’s commitment to mobilising more members to join the party’s ranks.
The official also recognised the efforts of the Executive in implementing policies aimed at young people, having emphasised that the gains achieved in 23 years of peace are visible in the implementation of educational projects, employment, social inclusion and other opportunities.
For the Secretary of Information and Propaganda of the MPLA Provincial Committee in Moxico, Tome Muzaza, Angolan youth are the protagonists of the country’s social, political and economic transformation, and are therefore called upon to contribute to the valorisation of the party’s achievements.
Tome Muzaza also highlighted the active capacity of the youth in defending the values of peace, democracy, national unity and social progress.
“We invite the youth to unite around the noble and urgent objectives of our party, such as education for citizenship, the promotion of peace and national unity, values that constitute the foundation for the development of a nation”, he stressed.
In view of the challenges that lie ahead, a total of 569 young people were introduced during the event, who joined the ranks of the JMPLA.
