JMPLA Successfully Renews Mandates

Africa-Press – Angola. JMPLA successfully carries out the process of renewing mandates throughout the country, within the scope of holding Ordinary Assemblies.After the provinces of Luanda, Lunda-Sul and Bié, yesterday it was up to the province of Cabinda to elect the 28-year-old militant Falcato Conde Macosso as provincial secretary of the JMPLA.

Elected with 171 votes, corresponding to 55.33 percent, the new leader of the party’s youth organization in Cabinda will replace Etelvina Velasco.

Speaking after being elected, the organization’s new provincial secretary revealed that the priority of the mandate is to continue building a JMPLA that is a spokesperson for youth and that promotes education, social justice and the spirit of youth entrepreneurship.

On the occasion, the coordinator of the monitoring group of the JMPLA National Secretariat for the province, Carlos Pedro, said that the actions and political thinking reflected in the guiding documents, both of the party and of the JMPLA, must be experienced in the daily lives of militants, so that the mystique of the MPLA is rekindled among the population.

Bengo

The new provincial secretary of the JMPLA in Bengo invited, in Caxito, the youth “branch” of the MPLA to reflect on the internal life of the organization and to look at the future political challenges of the country, to be carried out in 2017.

Félix André Fuxi, who was speaking in his first speech after being elected to office, during the 12th Assembly for the Renewal of Mandates of the JMPLA, said that the event contributes to continuing the strategy of revitalization and dynamization, as well as reaffirming the youth wing of the largest party in Angola, in order to be increasingly united, cohesive and competitive.

When Cubango

Lérias Biwango was elected, in the city of Menongue, province of Cuando Cubango, as the new provincial secretary of the JMPLA, with 61 percent of the votes, replacing Severino Sawanda, who served a five-year term.

The elected provincial secretary of the JMPLA promised to comply with the party’s statutes and do her best to ensure that the MPLA youth organization in the province continues to grow and meet the challenges of the future.

Benguela

The province of Benguela has elected Manuel Hermenegildo José João, aged 30, as the new provincial secretary of the JMPLA. Elected with 346 votes, accounting for 82.97 percent of the votes, the current leader of the youth organization of the “comrades” party revealed, in his first speech after the election, that he is prepared to work, with a view to materializing the actions contained in the five-year period 2024/2029.

For the first secretary of the MPLA in Benguela, Luís Nunes, the leadership that emerged from the process of renewing the mandate in the JMPLA should add value, contribute to strengthening the ranks, and be capable of continuing the achievements and victories that the party has achieved over the decades, since its foundation.

Huila

Working with all activists, from the various sectors of society, as well as providing conditions for the inclusion of young people in socially useful activities is the focus of the new provincial secretary of JMPLA in Huíla.

Faustino Mukuahingua Gongas, 29 years old, was elected at the 11th Provincial Assembly for Review and Renewal of Mandates, with 346 votes, out of 465 delegates from various parts of the province.
