Africa-Press – Angola. The country’s new Political-Administrative Division has brought new challenges and increased responsibilities, requiring government officials to adopt a more inclusive, coordinated and cross-cutting approach, in order to ensure that development reaches all corners of Angola’s regions, reducing asymmetries and population exodus. The assessment was made by the MPLA’s first secretary in Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, during a mass political event in the municipality of Lucala, 36 kilometres east of Ndalatando.
The party leader said that the municipality of Lucala is a testament to the hard work of paving and rehabilitating the main access roads to that location, revealing that increasing drinking water coverage is a priority for the party leadership, with the goal of achieving around three thousand new household connections this year.
According to the politician, the province of Cuanza-Norte, which saw the number of municipalities grow to 17, within the scope of the new Political-Administrative Division, is experiencing a remarkable phase in its history, just as the country is making great strides towards sustainable development, with strong socioeconomic, technological and infrastructure investments.“The MPLA, as a leading force and driving force of national transformation, has positioned itself in the continuous creation and improvement of living conditions to satisfy the needs of the population, ensuring access to drinking water, electric energy and communication routes”, said João Diogo Gaspar, in the act witnessed by members of the Secretariat of the Provincial Committee of the Party.
