Africa-Press – Angola. At least 1,734 young people from Cubango province entered the labor market in 2025, primarily in the private sector, after completing vocational training promoted by the provincial service centers of the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP).
The information was disclosed on Tuesday by Xavier Chicuata, the provincial head of INEFOP, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 training cycle at the Angolan Armed Forces Social Security Institute (FAA).
According to Chicuata, 1,103 of the participants were men and 631 were women.
From January to December, 3,013 candidates enrolled, and 1,199 successfully completed courses in plumbing, masonry, carpentry, accounting, cutting and sewing, cooking and baking, advanced Excel, entrepreneurship, electricity, human resources management, IT, mechanics, secretarial work, and metalwork. Of those who completed courses, 373 were women.
The deputy governor of Cubango for political, economic, and social affairs, Helena Chimena, in turn, defended the need to strengthen youth entrepreneurship as it is fundamental to diversifying the Angolan economy.
