Africa-Press – Angola. Three thousand and 522 attempts at violations of the border between Angola and the Republic of Namibia were frustrated during the first semester of this year by the border guard police in Cunene Province, another 19 compared to the same period last year.

According to the expert of the Institutional Communication and Press of the National Police Command in Cunene, inspector-chief Samuel Casaco, the transgressions took place in Santa Clara, Okapale and Calueque.

The officer said that of the frustrated border violations, 1, 620 were entries and 1,902 exits.

In the context of combating the tax evasion, he explained that 52 vehicles, 27 motorcycles of various brands and assorted kind of foodstuff were seized.

The records of the seized goods were elaborated and sent to the General Tax Administration, for legal proceedings.

The province of Cunene shares 460 kilometers border with the Republic of Namibia, 340 land and 120 river.
