Africa-Press – Angola. Eighty million kwanzas were invested in various actions of the Public Investment Program (PIP), developed by the Government of Cuanza Norte, from January to April of this year.

The PIP investment portfolio for the province is budgeted at AOA 15.9 billion for 2023.

The data are contained in the report of the second ordinary meeting of the Provincial Government, led by the provincial governor, Pedro Armando Makita Júlia.

When presenting the data, the deputy governor for the infrastructure sector, Mendoça Luís, declared that, of the general budget foreseen for the province, 4.3 billion kwanzas were approved, 1.6 billion kwanzas authorized and 80 executed .6 million, in support of the investment portfolio.

Regarding the Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PDLCP), the province was awarded 4.2 billion kwanzas, for the period from January to March of the current year, of which 112 million kwanzas were made available and executed 106.3 million.

The official explains that the municipalities of Cazengo (provincial headquarters) with 78.3 million kwanzas and Samba Caju with 28 million, were the only districts benefiting from the PDLCP fund, out of the 10 municipalities in the province.

As part of the PIIM, Mendonça Luís said that the province plans to carry out 86 actions by 2023, 76 of which are local and 11 are central, some of which were approved in previous years.

He clarified that of the PIIM actions, 22 have already been concluded, 29 are in progress and four are yet to start, with the sectors of education with 30 projects and health with 17, which house the largest number of projects.

Mendonça Luís said that the provincial government is working with the municipal administrations and other budgeted units for a partial management of the “scarce” resources available, refraining from the insertion of new projects in the investment portfolio, giving priority to the conclusion of the existing ones.

The official also presented the concern of the government of Cuanza Norte in relation to the bad execution of the financial quotas attributed to some municipal administrations and the low technical capacity of some contracted contractors, given the constant lack of material in the works for a long time, qualified work and delay in validating invoices.

With an end scheduled for today, the meeting in which Provincial Government entities, municipal administrators and guests participate, also analyzes the report of the zonal school games and judo tournament held in Cuanza Norte, in addition to the balance of the consequences of the rains and the situation exoneration of holders of leadership positions who do not have a definitive bond with the State.
