Africa-Press – Angola. The reading and interpretation of the works of Agostinho Neto, by students, lovers of literature and distinguished intellectuals from inside and outside the country, contribute to the immortalization of his achievements, encouraging the emergence of new writers, he said this Thursday in Saurimo (Lunda Sul), the representative of the Agostinho Neto Foundation, Cherone Campos.
The person in charge made such considerations during the session for the sale and presentation of the complete work of Agostinho Neto, the academic community of Lunda Sul, emphasizing that the messages contained in each poem, leads to a deep reflection of how much the greatest poet contributed to awaken the consciences of many Angolans.
He underlined that Neto was the main promoter of culture, promoting the creation of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA), with the aim of bringing together intellectuals to address issues related to art.
Cherone Campos said that one of the purposes of the Dr. António Agostinho Neto is embodied in establishing partnerships with several universities in the world, with a view to expanding its works.
Among other projects, he said, all of Agostinho Neto’s works have been translated into foreign languages and are being studied in European, American and African universities.
In turn, the provincial delegate of the Brigada Jovem de Literatura Angolana in Lunda Sul (BJLA), Hélio Sangula, called on young literature lovers to acquire Neto’s poetic trilogy, as it will serve as a source of inspiration and help change attitudes.

With 171 pages and more than 50 poems, the book was officially launched on September 17, 2022, by the Agostinho Neto Foundation, as part of the commemorations of the centenary of its patron and initiatives to immortalize his achievements.
