Ruling Party’S vice President Defends Family Farming Promotion

Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA party vice-president, Mara Quiosa, pointed out in Ndalatando City, northern province of Cuanza-Norte, the need for promotion of large-scale family farming as the guarantee of the diversification of the national economy and the achievement of food self-sufficiency.

Mara Quiosa made this statement to the press at the end of her visit to the National Production and Mineral Resources Fair (FPNRM), which she opened in this city and which is part of the launch program of the MPLA’s Political Agenda for 2026, happening this Saturday (20).

To her, the fair is a very clear sign that the promotion of national production is effectively a reality in the country.

Mara Quiosa praised the commitment of local farmers to increasing production and diversifying products at the municipal level in the province.

The event features the participation of 80 exhibitors from the 17 municipalities of Cuanza-Norte and the provinces of Cabinda, Namibe, and Luanda.

In addition to agricultural products, the fair also hosts exhibitors from the machinery and equipment, clothing, jewelry, handicrafts, and footwear sectors.

The exhibition will run for three days, and a business volume of approximately 300 million kwanzas is expected.

On the same day, the MPLA leader also observed the progress of the construction works for the new water supply system for the city of Ndalatando, being built in the municipality of Lucala, and the new building of the Ndalatando Higher Polytechnic Institute.

She also held meetings with religious and traditional authorities, as well as with representatives of civil society and local youth organizations.

Mara Quiosa also visited a photographic exhibition that portrays the historical journey of the MPLA in the region, as well as the development of the province.
