Africa-Press – Angola. From January to the present date, the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA) has financed at least 4,955 out of the 6,402 total approved agricultural projects, within the framework of the incentive and support program for local production and the strategy to accelerate family farming.

Adão Matari, the head of FADA’s credit recovery department, revealed the data Thursday, and emphasized that 50.9 billion were disbursed.

Matari made the statement on the sidelines of the Conference on “Financing Instruments for the Economy and Alternative Payment Instruments,” promoted by the BNA, adding that the total amount approved to finance the 6,402 projects is 66.9 billion kwanzas.

Of the 4,955 financings, he highlighted that nine were destined for agricultural associations and cooperatives (1,305), micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (391), and individual producers (3,250).

He said that of the funded projects, 64 are from the province of Bengo; 67 are from Benguela; 600 are from Bie; 294 are from Cabinda; 430 are from Cuando; 186 are from Cuanza-Norte; 219 are from Cuanza-Sul; 202 are from Cubango; 44 are from Cunene; 629 are from Huambo; 401 are from Huila; 165 are from Icolo e Bengo; 784 are from Luanda; 73 are from Lunda-Norte; 37 are from Lunda-Sul; 150 are from Malanje; 76 are from Moxico; 35 are from Moxico-Leste; 264 are from Namibe; 168 are from Uige; and 67 are from Zaire.
