Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, today regretted the tragedy, in which the father supposedly murdered his five-year-old daughter this Thursday, June 1, and subsequently committed suicide, in Achada Igreja, São Salvador Mundo.
Joana Rosa asked for everyone’s reflection and intervention to break with this situation in which parents abuse and kill their own children.
“It is a very sad case and it is time for all of us to reflect, because I think it is necessary to reflect. The child is supposed to be in the bosom of the family and have protection, but we are seeing that families are not protecting their children”, said the minister.
The minister, who was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the training of new prison officers, underlined that it is the responsibility of the father, mother, siblings, grandparents and neighbors to protect children.
Therefore, she believes that everyone should work on this problem so that the country no longer has these “sad scenes” that are happening.
