Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Bastonary of the Order of Physicians, Danielson Veiga, said today, in statements to Radio Nacional (RCV) having handed the Government a letter to ask for an explanation on the reasons for the creation of the new medical career.
The statement of the Medical Order came after meeting Tuesday, 23, at night, with the Government for the presentation of the Proposal for the Proposal of the Functions and Remunerations Plans (PCFR) of Medical Staff.
“This was our pretension, to warn again that we are with the class,” he said, reinforcing that the greater the clarification, the understanding will be “easier” during the process.
It also affirmed the existence of disagreement in this process, with the trade union, and that has to do with the updating of the wage scale introduced in the new wage regime.
“There have been discussions since 2017 and there has always been an understanding of the update, which was not made at the time, and was made now in the new table,” he said.
For Danielson Veiga there are cases that must be “previously” solved, namely, the specialist doctors with more than ten years of exercise and who receive as general practitioner.
At this point, Danielson da Veiga suggested compensation with retroactive effects.
The meeting between the Medical Order took place, in the meeting room of the Ministry of Finance, with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, the Minister of Health, Filomena Gonçalves, and the Minister of Modernization and Public Administration, Edna Oliveira.
In view of the non-compliance with the agreements signed with the Ministry of Health, the seven unions representing health professionals, in a press statement this Tuesday, 23, promised a stoppage of the entire National Health System (SNS) if there is no approval and implementation of the PCFR of the nursing career and its regulation, the approval of the PCFR of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), with effect from January 2024.
In this context they promise a strike, from July 31 until August 3, which may involve four thousand professionals.
