Africa-Press. The General Staff of the Malian Armed Forces announced that the military conducted airstrikes on sites belonging to terrorist groups in the Gao region in eastern Mali and the Kayes region in the west of the country.
The military clarified in a press statement that the operations targeted hideouts, logistical warehouses, and reserve bases used by the terrorist groups in the Doro area near Gao and the Sandari area in Kayes. It added that the airstrikes destroyed several pieces of equipment and disrupted the movements of a number of fighters.
These operations are part of ongoing offensive reconnaissance missions carried out by the Malian Armed Forces within the country, aimed at reducing the operational capabilities of armed terrorist groups.
As part of enhancing security measures, the Malian authorities recently decided to suspend motorcycle movement outside major urban areas, due to the frequent use of this means of transport by terrorist groups for their movements. Mali has faced repeated terrorist attacks for years, particularly targeting defense and security forces, as well as strategic infrastructure and convoys.
