Africa-Press – Eswatini. Lidwala Insurance wants to be the leading insurance company in the country in both market share and quality of service by 2028.
This was shared by the Managing Director Dr. Thokozani Nkambule during an interview with CIO Magazine, where he was proclaimed as one of ‘the most inspiring black corporate leaders to follow in 2023.’
Nkambule declared that in his first year with the insurance company, it experienced a topline growth of 44 per cent.
Dr. Nkambule further highlighted that his second year with the company, which ended in June, a 33 per cent topline growth was experienced.
“The first fundamental was to redefine what the company stands for. We aligned the vision with that of the Inyatsi Group Holdings, being ‘Africa’s Leading Integrated Business Partner,’” he explained
Growth
He said the key was to ensure that, while the insurance company experienced short-term financial growth, the team also grew and developed a mindset that would allow them to play in the African economy and not just in Eswatini.
He said the insurance company had further taken on the responsibility of embracing the Artificial Intelligence era, and making their services accessible and painless to acquire.Dr. Nkambule added that Lidwala was actively exploring opportunities to broaden its customer base, introduce new products and solutions, and create demand for its products to experience the growth they desire.
“Insurance is always perceived as a grudge buy, but we are committed to driving customer education and engagement to a point where insurance becomes a necessity within every local consumer basket,” said the doctor.
He further indicated that the company, being a member of an African Group that was spreading its wings internationally, it was also continuously looking at partnership opportunities in the various jurisdictions where the group was spreading its footprint.
