Africa-Press – Eswatini. Former Member of Parliament (MP) loser Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza received a ‘harsh’ welcome to Manzini Wanderers.
He let in two goals during an MTN Premier League clash at KaLanga Technical Centre. Young Buffaloes emerged victorious, securing a 2-0 win and pushing themselves to the fourth spot with 10 points. On the other hand, the defeat marked the third loss of the season for the maroon and white ensemble, who welcomed Ginindza back after his unsuccessful campaign for the Mbabane East MP position. They remained in 11th place with five points.
celebrated
Led by Mandla ‘Stofu’ Dlamini, Young Buffaloes celebrated their third win of the season, courtesy of goals from versatile winger Bongwa ‘Owa’ Matsebula and hardworking forward Junior Mazibuko, both of which were scored in the first half. This victory was a welcome result for Buffaloes, given their underwhelming start to the season, having suffered two defeats in their previous outings. Last season, they finished the league without losing a single game. For Wanderers, this result was one they would want to forget quickly, as it not only marked their third loss of the season, but also highlighted Buffaloes’ dominance over them. In their last five league encounters dating back to 2021, Wanderers have failed to secure a win against Buffaloes. The first half of the game was eventful, with the hosts netting their decisive goals. Just before the half-hour mark, an incisive pass from Ali Matse sliced through the Wanderers’ defence, finding ‘Owa’ who calmly tapped the ball into the top right corner of the net, leaving ‘Nkomishi’ with no chance to make a save.

The hosts had a chance to level the score, but Banele ‘Banny’ Mdluli’s weak shot was easily saved by Mlungisi Nxumalo. Fabrice Mopina also had an opportunity to get on the scoresheet, but his header missed the target by inches. The second half started with the visitors desperately trying to reduce the deficit. However, their efforts were in vain, as the Buffaloes’ defence held strong. Wanderers struggled to make meaningful attacks in the final third, while the hosts taking control of the second half, forcing the opponents to chase and defend. Despite their efforts to extend their lead to 3-0, the hosts missed several chances, and the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
