Africa-Press – Eswatini. MBABANE Highlanders goal poacher Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa will be stand-in captain in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers match against Somalia today.

This comes after captain Lindo Mkhonta was suspended by CAF. Ndzinisa will be not new in the leadership role as he is also a skipper at his team, Mbabane Highlanders. Sihlangu will face-off with Somalia today in Der er Salaam with the return match scheduled for Sunday at Mbombela Stadium in South Africa as both nations do not have FIFA standard stadiums.

Eswatini Football Association Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed the news.

“Yes, ‘Sikhali’ will captain the national team in the absence of Lindo, who is serving a suspension,” he said. According to a CAF correspondence, the national team skipper will be suspended for one match only following his red card against Senegal in the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.

The delegation to Somalia is led by executive committee member Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza. Sihlangu is expected back home on Friday.
