Africa-Press – Namibia. OSHANA Regional Governor Hofni Iipinge on Saturday morning launched a clean-up campaign at Oshakati, which is part of a national initiative under the theme “Namibia: Healthy and Clean.”
The campaign is spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.
Iipinge said that the campaign is not only about picking up litter, but it is essentially about embracing a spirit of environmental responsibility and strengthening waste management practices.
“It is about instilling in each of us a renewed sense of national pride in maintaining a Namibia that is clean, safe, and healthy for ourselves and for future generations,” he said, adding: “A clean environment reflects who we are as people. It speaks to our discipline, our values, and our collective determination to build a nation that we are proud to call home.”
He said that every member of the community has a role to play — whether at home, in schools, workplaces, villages, or towns.
“The responsibility rests with all of us,” he said, “and together, we can make a difference.”
