Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Emmanuel Albert Crispin Beresford Sandy as Sierra Leone’s new Trade and Investment Envoy.
The appointment was confirmed in a letter dated July 21, 2025, and signed by Secretary to the President Barba B. Fortune.
As Trade and Investment Envoy, Sandy is tasked with promoting Sierra Leone’s businesses, products, and trade interests in foreign markets. He is also expected to identify trade and investment opportunities in emerging and growth markets and share them with the appropriate authorities. His duties may also include other assignments from the President.
The letter asks Sandy to respond in writing to accept or decline the appointment.
The notice of appointment was shared with several government offices, including the Secretary to the Vice President, the Director General and Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Chief Immigration Officer, and the Executive Director of the National Investment Board.
The appointment supports the government’s ongoing work to grow international trade connections and attract investment to key sectors of the economy.
