Africa-Press – Tanzania. The Central Committee of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has endorsed Ester Bulaya, the former Special Seats Member of Parliament from the opposition party Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), as one of five candidates shortlisted in the initial vetting process to contest for the Bunda Urban parliamentary seat on behalf of CCM.
The announcement was made by CCM’s Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, CPA Amos Makalla, while revealing the names of members who met the criteria and were appointed during the initial selection phase. He stated that the nominations were conducted under the party’s internal rules and leadership criteria.
Ester Bulaya recently joined CCM after officially resigning from CHADEMA. On June 30, 2025, she collected nomination forms to seek CCM’s approval to run for the Bunda Urban parliamentary seat, formally entering the party’s internal selection process.
The decision to endorse Bulaya was made during a special meeting of the Central Committee held in Dodoma, chaired by CCM National Chairperson, Honorable Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
