Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has pledged to conduct the entire selection and campaign process with transparency, fairness, and adherence to democratic principles, to field capable and trustworthy candidates to effectively represent the people.
CCM pledged as its Central Committee of the National Executive Council (NEC) officially approved the names of candidates vying for various leadership positions within the party, including parliamentary and representative seats.
These candidates will now be subjected to internal opinion polls conducted by party members to select one final nominee who will represent CCM in the upcoming General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025.
This decision was reached during a special session held in Dodoma, chaired by the CCM National Chairperson, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Speaking to the media shortly after the meeting, CCM’s Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, CPA Amos Makalla, stated that the endorsed names were the result of a thorough and careful vetting process. The exercise aimed at evaluating the qualifications, competence, and records of all aspirants who had expressed interest in running under the CCM ticket.
The official announcement was made today, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Dodoma.
According to the schedule released by the National Electoral Commission (NEC), the official campaign period will commence on August 28, 2025, and conclude on October 28, 2025 — one day before the election date.
