Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Zanzibar presidential candidate, Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, has pledged to establish a specialized health center dedicated to serving people with disabilities.

This initiative is part of his broader vision to ensure this group receives quality healthcare and equal rights within society.

Speaking on Unguja Island during a meeting with people with disabilities, Dr. Mwinyi stated that the government he plans to lead will create a friendly environment that enables individuals with disabilities to access appropriate medical treatment without financial constraints or discrimination.

During the campaign event aimed at presenting CCM’s policies and seeking re-election, Dr. Mwinyi emphasized that his administration would increase employment opportunities and appointments for people with disabilities to ensure their inclusion in national decision-making and development processes.

Additionally, he revealed that the government would continue to enhance the welfare of people with disabilities by introducing interest-free loans and providing capital to support their economic activities.

Dr. Mwinyi further explained that these policies are part of a broader strategy to promote social welfare, combat discrimination, and build a Zanzibar where everyone has an equal opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of their physical condition.

Overall, these promises have been warmly received by the disability community, who expressed optimism that such initiatives would significantly improve their lives and empower them to fully participate in the development of Zanzibar.
