Africa-Press – Angola. A hundred and 40 billion, 18 million, 220 thousand and 996 Kwanzas is the allocation of the General State Budget (OGE), for the financial year 2023, in Cunene province, against the 78 billion, 168 million, 825 thousand 394 kwanzas of the year 2022.
The data were presented this Friday by the director of the Studies and Planning Office (GEP), Marcelino dos Santos, on the sidelines of the second ordinary session of the local government, stressing that the budget allocation has to do with expenses, goods and services, salaries and project execution.
He said that the amount in question will be implemented at the level of all budgetary units, as well as in the execution of 154 projects, of which 117 are provincial and 34 are central government.
He made it known that the priority lies in the completion of ongoing projects and those that are paralyzed.
The official explained that the budget rules for 2023 did not foresee the execution of new projects, but limited themselves to the execution of ongoing and paralyzed projects.
He also pointed out the increase made, within the Public Investment Projects (PIP), in relation to the year 2022, whose sum amounted to 12 billion kwanzas, and 2023 increased to 18 billion kz.
Regarding Development Support Expenditure (DAD), he said that more than eight billion kwanzas were injected this year, against three billion last year.
Marcelino dos Santos argued that they are good indicators and if there is no change from the macroeconomic point of view, the values ββin question will guarantee the execution of the tasks envisaged in favor of improving the living conditions of the population.
On her turn, the governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, said that the meeting made it possible to assess the plan of actions contained in the General State Budget (OGE), approved by the National Assembly, with some delay, as it was a year after elections.
He also highlighted the approach to aspects related to the regulation model on the general regime of administrative offences, with a view to drawing up regulations at provincial and municipal level.
He also pointed out the analysis of the process of transferring powers from the provincial government to local administrations, constituting important actions for public administration, relations with institutions and the local population.
With an area of ββ87 thousand 342 square kilometers and 1 million 17 491 inhabitants, the province of Cunene is administratively divided into six municipalities and 20 communes.
