Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda-Norte, Filomena Miza, met on Tuesday in Luanda with the Angola-Norway Chamber of Commerce and the Wayne Angola Group to present the province’s economic potential and business opportunities in the commerce, agriculture, and industry sectors.
At the meeting, Governor Filomena Miza informed the businesspeople that the province lacks large-scale commercial spaces (supermarkets) and investment in agribusiness, tourism, and hospitality.
After the meeting, Wayne Angola representative Henzo William expressed the group’s interest in investing in Lunda-Norte province in the areas of commerce and agriculture.
He said that the group owns two large companies in Angola: one of North American origin, focused on oil and gas production, and the other, which operates a supermarket chain and plans to expand into Lunda-Norte province to promote employment and services.
The Wayne Angola group, a subsidiary of Wayne Global Corporation, founded over 15 years ago in the United States, with a consolidated presence in Canada, Latin America, and some African countries, entered the Angolan market in 2023.
António Da Silva, chairperson of the Angola-Norway Chamber of Commerce, António Da Silva, said that the dialogue with the governor focused on presenting business opportunities in various areas, considering the shortages the province is experiencing in commerce, hospitality, and industry.
He emphasized that in October the Chamber of Commerce will participate in a business mission forum in Norway, where it will take the opportunity to present the potential of Lunda-Norte and convince Norwegian businesspeople to create an economic zone in the region.
