Africa-Press – Angola. The construction of road infrastructure to connect the country by road and reduce the impact of regional asymmetries continues to be one of the main challenges of the Angolan Roads Institute (INEA), which celebrates its 35th anniversary of existence this Monday, November 17, 2025.

According to the congratulatory message from the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, INEA workers also have the mission of continuing to guarantee roads that encourage the harmonious development of the country, in compliance with the National Development Plan (PDN) 2023-2027.

The government official also emphasizes that the achievement of these challenges depends on a joint effort by public and private entities, to ensure that the sector remains among those that generate the most jobs, uniting Angolans and shortening physical, cultural and psychological distances.

On the other hand, Minister Carlos Alberto dos Santos recognizes the commitment of all generations of INEA employees and collaborators in the process of building road infrastructure in Angola.

“The effort and sacrifice made by all INEA professionals will never be forgotten, and their patriotic actions in the most critical moments of the country’s history remain unquestionable”, the Minister said.

From this perspective, on behalf of all employees in the sector, the holder of the Public Works portfolio addresses a message of hope and courage to all INEA employees who have “covered” the most remote areas of Angola, with selflessness and a sense of mission, allowing the continuous circulation of people and goods and the realization of dreams.

The ministerial department also praises and is proud of the legacy already built, with the conviction that the work for Angola cannot and should not end.

To mark the celebration of INEA’s 35 years of existence, the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing has scheduled, this Monday, in Luanda, an inspection visit to the PROASGOL Bituminous Emulsions Center and the Control and Monitoring room for DEQUIP’s Workshops, Equipment and Machines, which derives from a vast public partnership between the Endiama group and INEA.

Also marking the anniversary celebration were the “INEA Grand Prix 35 Years in Chess” tournament, “Checkers Game”, lectures, among other activities.

Formalized through Presidential Decree No. 320/14, of December 1st, which approved its Organic Statute, INEA’s mission is to ensure the promotion, coordination and development of road infrastructures, such as roads and bridges.

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, INEA also has responsibilities for managing, building and maintaining the maintenance and operation of the national road network, in addition to supervising its continuous improvement and safety.
