Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Polícia Judiciária (PJ) arrested three individuals in the act of committing a crime, during Operation “Boas Entradas,” on the night of Friday, January 2nd, for high-risk drug trafficking on the island of Sal. As announced today by the PJ, all suspects were remanded in custody pending trial.
The operation was carried out by the PJ in compliance with search and seizure warrants issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Criminal Investigation Court of the Sal District Court. It is part of an investigation whose facts have been underway since mid-June 2025.
During the operation, 58 white rocks, two plastic bags containing a white substance (which tested positive for cocaine, weighing a total of 15.7 grams), and a precision scale were seized.
The PJ (Judicial Police) also seized several items of interest to the investigation, namely national currency amounting to 460,986$00, as well as 35.54 euros, mobile phones and documents.
The detainees, aged between 25 and 47 years old, of Cape Verdean nationality, were presented to the competent judicial authorities for their first judicial interrogation. The Court of the District of Sal applied the most severe coercive measure to all of them: preventive detention. The defendants are to await further procedural steps in the Central Prison of Sal.
