Africa-Press. Egypt has recovered a number of rare Pharaonic artifacts from Italy, marking a new step in its ongoing efforts to reclaim its historical heritage that has been illegally smuggled abroad.
In this context, a representative from the Egyptian embassy in Rome announced that the embassy has received these artifacts, which date back to ancient Egypt, and they have been transported to Cairo through careful coordination with the relevant authorities.
This operation is part of Egypt’s strategy to restore its archaeological and artistic heritage, particularly items that have left the country illegally, in order to preserve cultural memory and enhance the status of national heritage.
The representative emphasized that “the Egyptian embassy in Rome prioritizes this issue,” while also praising the “fruitful cooperation” exhibited by Italian authorities, which has contributed to the recovery of many artifacts in recent years.
Additionally, the role of the national airline in transporting these artifacts from Rome to Cairo was highlighted, supporting national efforts to protect Egyptian cultural heritage.
This step reflects the deep cooperation between the two countries in the field of heritage protection and underscores Egypt’s commitment to reclaiming its cultural components for future generations.
