Africa-Press. The 12th African Regional Review Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals, which began in Addis Ababa, emphasized the need for Africa to shift from a fragmented approach to a more systemic approach in order to achieve the 2030 and 2063 agendas, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.
Ugandan PM Robina Nabanna highlighted the urgency of quickly translating initiatives into action, stressing that the 2030 deadline is fast approaching.
Africa’s challenge lies not in policy but in execution, Claver Gatete, the Secretary-General of the UN Economic Commission for Africa, stated, noting that “fundamental changes” are required in how initiatives are carried out and approached.
To achieve “decisive change,” Gatete argued, Africa must move beyond fragmented and uncoordinated strategies. The continent needs to embrace systemic thinking and transition to a broader phase of action, undeterred by temporary external pressures or structural challenges.
