The opening ceremony of the fifth regular conference of a local religious group in Chad witnessed a wide official and public attendance, led by the Deputy Prime Minister Lyman Mohammed, the conference’s patron, alongside several officials and guests. There was significant participation from various religious and community components, affirming the group’s status and its role in serving the community.

The opening also saw notable attendance from traditional authorities, including several sultans and traditional leaders, as well as dignitaries and a select group of businessmen and traders from different regions of the country. This scene reflects the standing of the local religious group among various segments of Chadian society and embodies the commitment of traditional and social leaders and businessmen to participate in major religious events, enhancing values of communication, cooperation, and community cohesion.

A delegation from the National Council for Islamic Affairs participated in the opening, headed by Sheikh Dr. Abdalaim Abdullah Osman, accompanied by Sheikh Haroun Idris, the first deputy of the National Council for Islamic Affairs, along with several council members, scholars, and preachers. They were received by Sheikh Dr. Yahya bin Ibrahim Al-Khalil, the third deputy of the National Council for Islamic Affairs and the head of the local religious group in Chad. The council’s participation is part of its presence at religious and national events and its support for efforts aimed at enhancing Islamic work and serving the community.

On the sidelines of the conference, a scientific seminar titled “Tribal Conflicts in Chad: Causes, Negative Effects, and Solutions” was held, featuring Sultan of Dar Wadai Sharif Abd al-Hadi Mahdi al-Abbasi, alongside researchers Dr. Ghazali Sanusi Ahmed and Dr. Tahir Ali Abakar, with the seminar moderated by Professor Abakar Ali Ismail.

In the scientific segment, Sheikh researcher Muhammad Tahir Muhammad Walidimi, the head of the youth and media department of the local religious group, presented a research paper titled “Youth and Their Role in the Renaissance of the Nation Amid Contemporary Challenges.” The session was chaired by Sheikh Dr. Tahir Muhammad Abakar, assisted by Sheikh Dr. Abu Sakin Kentosh, while Sheikh Osman Ali Ibrahim served as the session’s rapporteur, aided by Sheikh Abdulaziz Suleiman Dotem.

The conference continued on its second day with several specialized scientific sessions. The first session featured Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Zain Noor presenting a research paper titled “The Call of the Local Religious Group in Chad: Its History, Methodology, and Strategy.”

In the second session, Dr. Abu Muhammad Musa Shaqifat presented a paper titled “Regulations of Legal Fatwa,” discussing the legal foundations governing fatwas and the key regulations that should be considered in issuing them.

The third session saw Sheikh Isa Muhammad Hassan present a research paper titled “The Regulating Method for Cooperation with Active Da’wah Groups,” discussing the principles of cooperation between institutions and da’wah groups according to legal regulations.

In the fourth session, Sheikh Dr. Yusuf Muhammad Ahmed presented a research paper titled “Women and Their Role in Da’wah and Family Preservation,” addressing the status of women in da’wah work and their impact on reinforcing family and community values.

The scientific sessions concluded with the fifth session in the educational axis, where Sheikh Dr. Ali Tahir Abu al-Hassan presented a research paper titled “Contributions of the Local Religious Group in Chad to the Education Sector,” reviewing the group’s key efforts in supporting the educational process, establishing educational institutions, and contributing to the dissemination of religious education and serving the Chadian community.
