Tebboune: Algeria’S Ties Based on Mutual Benefit

Africa-Press. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune praised his country’s relations with various nations, stressing that they are based on the principle of mutual benefit, particularly those with Russia and China.

Speaking during his regular media meeting with the Algerian press, Tebboune said that “Algeria maintains good relations with many countries, such as Italy, Spain and Germany, as well as major powers like the United States, Russia and China.”

It is worth recalling that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Algerian counterpart held talks in Moscow in mid-June 2023, during which they signed a joint declaration outlining several areas of bilateral cooperation, including strengthening strategic partnership, developing links between financial and banking institutions, and creating secure and independent banking channels for transactions.

Regarding relations with Niger, the Algerian president stated: “I have great respect for its current president, Abdourahamane Tiani, and I have invited him to visit Algeria.”

He also described relations with Burkina Faso as “good,” affirming Algeria’s readiness to further advance them.

Tebboune emphasized that “anything that affects Libya affects Algeria,” stressing the need to “allow Libyans to decide the future of their country and choose those who represent them.”

On relations with Egypt, the Algerian president said they are “historical,” adding that “Algeria rejects any aggression against it.”

He also praised Algeria’s relations with Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, describing them as “more than brotherly.”
