The Egyptian Football Association has renewed Hossam Hassan’s contract as head coach of the Egypt national team until 2030, following the historic achievement of the Pharaohs during their participation in the 2026 World Cup, where they reached the Round of 16 for the first time in their World Cup history.
The Board of the Association held a meeting that included the signing of contracts, attended by Hani Abou Rida, the head of the Association, Khaled El-Darandly, the vice president, and Mostafa Azam, the secretary general, along with Hossam Hassan, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and Walid Badr, the administrative manager, according to a statement from the Egyptian Football Association.
Why Did Hossam Hassan Continue with the Egypt National Team?
The decision to renew was made in line with the Football Association’s desire to maintain stability within the coaching staff and to continue the project that Hossam Hassan began with the national team, after leading the Pharaohs to their best performance in World Cup history.
The team reached the Round of 16 in a tournament that featured 48 teams for the first time, finishing as runners-up in Group G with 5 points, tied with Belgium but advancing on goal difference.
